Admission to BIS is open to students of all nationalities who demonstrate the ability to access and benefit from the challenging international curriculum and programme offered by the school.

Admissions for Academic Year 2017/2018 are open only for Pre Primary and Lower Kindergarten. Admissions will continue until availability of seats. To commence the admissions procedure, all parents are invited to send an e-mail to the admission officer (admissions@bischool.in) in order to check the availability of seats and make an appointment to visit the school, so that a tour of the campus can be organized.

Criteria for admission:

  • Availability of seats in appropriate classes and programs
  • Meeting all admission procedures and qualifications
  • Meeting all financial obligations

Admission Procedure for Kindergarten (Pre Primary / Lower Kindergarten / Upper Kindergarten)

In addition to completing all the normal admission procedures, admission is dependent upon:

  • Entrance interview being completed to a satisfactory level
  • Parents' meeting with the Principal and/or the Section Coordinator
  • Admission interviews for Kindergarten, held by the class teachers on fixed days
  • For August 2017 admission into Pre-Primary, children should be 2 years and 10 months old. For August 2017 admission into Lower Kindergarten, children should be 3 years and 10 months old. For August 2017 admission into Upper Kindergarten, children should be 4 years and 10 months old.

Admission procedure for Elementary School (Grade 1 to Grade 5)

In addition to completing all the normal admission procedures, admission is dependent upon:

  • Entrance interview/test in English/Mathematics being completed to a satisfactory level
  • Interview with the Principal and/or the Section Coordinator
  • Entrance tests for admission to Elementary School, held by the class teachers on fixed days
  • Receipt of the student's previous academic records, along with letters of recommendation, which are reviewed along with the entrance exam results

Admission Procedure for High School (Grade 9 to Grade 12)

In addition to completing all the normal admission procedures, admission is dependent upon:

  • Written assessment in English and Mathematics (there is no fixed syllabus for any of these written assessments, they are based on previous grade portions)
  • An interview with the Principal, the High School Coordinator and the Admission Officer
  • Receipt of the Student's previous academic report along with a letter of recommendation
  • An evaluation will be carried out on the basis of the marks obtained in the entrance tests, the interview and the reports from 2 years

Admission Procedure for Middle School (Grade 6 to Grade 8)

In addition to completing all the normal admission procedures, admission is dependent upon:

  • Entrance tests in English and Mathematics being completed to a satisfactory level.
  • Interview with the Principal and/or the Section Coordinator and the Admission Officer.
  • Receipt of the student's previous academic records and letters of recommendation, which are reviewed along with the entrance exam results

The final decision of the admission committee will be communicated in one week's time.

Mid-term admissions are considered only during the first semester up to Grade 8th and are limited to the availability of seats. No mid-term admissions will be accepted in the second semester which is from January onwards.

Provisional Admission will be considered (depending on the availability of seats) only for outstation students who are planning to relocate/move to Bangalore. These students have to send the provisional application form (downloaded from our web site) and previous academic reports (of the last two years, at least) together with a recommendation letter from the school authority/teacher and a copy of their birth certificate.

Once the Provisional Admission has been accepted, a payment of Rs. 100,000.00 towards the reservation fee has to be paid in order to block the seat. The admission is provisional till the entrance test and interview is completed and cleared. If the school refuses admission, the reservation fee will be returned to the parents. If the parents or students change their mind regarding the admission, the reservation fee will not be refunded. On confirmation of admission, the reservation fee will be adjusted against the admission fee.
